National Dental Hygiene Month

When it comes to general dentistry, there’s really no substitute for taking control of your own oral health. There’s a lot you can do in the comfort of your own home to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Why are we reminding you of this now? Because October is National Dental Hygiene Month, and while we believe dental hygiene is a year-round endeavor, this is an excellent occasion to pause and reflect on just how simple oral health can be.

Dental hygiene is incredibly important, but it’s also quite simple. What do you need to do to keep your teeth and gums healthy? Brush your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Floss on a daily basis. Visit our dentists once every six months for a regularly scheduled cleaning and exam.

Simple, right? And yet, taking these simple steps will go a long way toward protecting the health of your teeth and gums. By doing so, you can prevent yourself from suffering the range of serious health problems associated with bacteria in your mouth.
