Dental Technology

Since its establishment in 1925, Dentonics has built a tradition of dental excellence.

Today, Pittsburgh dentists Dr. Joe and Dr. Charles Frye are proud to continue a legacy that has provided exceptional dental care to generations of Pittsburgh-area families. A significant part of our commitment to our patients is staying abreast of and offering the most advanced dental technology available.

Cosmetic Dentistry

When you choose Dentonics to rejuvenate your smile through cosmetic dentistry, you are assured of state-of-the-art care from your consultation through your procedure.

We conduct a thorough smile analysis using every means available to ensure you have a vision of the outcome of your procedure prior to undergoing treatment. We use detailed computer imaging, intra-oral cameras and smile simulation in addition to more traditional tools like models.

Because your comfort and satisfaction are among our priorities, we employ the latest technology in every cosmetic dentistry procedure. This includes the use of a soft-tissue laser in laser dentistry treatments for the safest, most precise contouring of the gums.

Neuromuscular Dentistry

The painful condition known as temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ or TMD) can be difficult to diagnose, and that is why we use multiple high-tech methods to assess the source of your discomfort to form the basis for an effective custom treatment plan.

Our neuromuscular dentistry practice utilizes the Myotronics K7 Evaluation System for a comprehensive computerized analysis of your bite and bite function. Electromyography and sonography allow us to track the movements of your jaw as well as your jaw’s ideal resting position.

In many cases of TMJ/TMD treatment, we use the latest in-office and take-home transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation (TENS) units to help patients relax their jaw muscles and joints, which in turn promotes the jaw’s settling into proper alignment and relieving discomfort.

General Dentistry and Family Dentistry

The best way to avoid severe oral health problems is through preventive dental care, and we use every resource available in our general dentistry and family dentistry practices to diagnose potential issues before they become problematic.

Your regular check-ups and teeth cleaning sessions feature a comprehensive exam and dental health assessment using advanced technology, including the laser-based DIAGNOdent assessment, intra-oral cameras and digital imaging.

The Pittsburgh dentists at Dentonics also use high-magnification and illumination for all procedures, and we offer patients movie goggles during their procedures to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
